The Seven Chakras Part One: The Crown Chakra
We will start by learning about the seventh chakra, the crown chakra. This chakra is located at the top of the head and it gives us access to a higher vibration and even a higher state of consciousness. The purpose of the crown chakra is to allow our conscious state to get in touch with a more universal/spiritual state. The Sanskrit meaning of the crown chakra means “1000 petals.” The color of the crown chakra is white although sometimes it can be purple or violet in color. The aura of the crown chakra often appears clear or white. The crown chakra is associated with the pituitary gland. The crown chakra is closely associated with the nervous system and brain as a whole. When are chakras are opened and balanced, they spin and transmit energy throughout the body. This helps the individual function properly on all levels. When one of the chakras are blocked or opened too much an individual could suffer from ill health. The Crown Chakra affects mental and emotional health. Keeping the chakras open and balanced is very important. An over active crown chakra occurs when it is opened too much. This can lead a person to have obsessive thoughts. They may constantly be thinking about things and may even have racing thoughts. A blocked crown chakra or an under active crown chakra can cause a person to be spiritually closed off, depressed, and even become self centered. A blocked and or over active crown chakra, can lead to several different types of physical issues such as headaches, epilepsy, MS, neurological problems and even depression. Meditation helps to open the crown chakra. Crystals such as: Amethyst help with meditation and it helps us to communicate with our guides and angels. If a person’s crown chakra is closed, they are generally closed off to the spiritual world too. It is important to have an Amethyst crystal to help open this chakra. Another great crystal is Selenite. This is a clear colored stone and it helps open and activate the third eye. It helps clear clear your aura as well. Essential oil’s that help balance the crown chakra include Frankincense, Jasmine, Lavender, Cedarwood, Rose and Sandalwood.
Yoga is also great way to open your crown chakra. A headstand or even the lotus position Is recommended for help open up the crown chakra. The crown chakra is balanced when you have a balanced spiritual life and a sense of purpose in life. Another way to tell if the Crown Chakra is open, is that you feel a connection to a higher power and possibly even a greater connection to others. The crown chakra is important because it connects us with the universe. Since the Crown Chakra is located at the top of the head, it allows energy enters our body. The energy of the Universe keeps us revitalized. It is important to keep all seven chakras balanced and strengthened so we can connect to the universe and those around us.
